Program Objectives

‘Confident Communications and Presentations’ is a 3-module course delivered over one full training day.

The purpose of the training is to enable participants to confidently deliver information to colleagues and clients in an articulate and assertive manner.

Module 1: Essential Communication Skills

-         Understanding the different communication skills necessary to effectively deliver information to co-workers and colleagues.

-         Recognising the importance of Body Language and Sound of Voice when speaking with others.

 

Module 2: Presenting with Confidence

-        Identifying their own individual speaking style when communicating.

-        Feedback and analysis on their own unique communication method (with a strong focus on how to use their most natural speaking style to help build confidence and a more professional and polished delivery style).

-        Individual and personal feedback on how they can improve their communication style when speaking in front of others.

Module 3: Dealing with Difficult Clients

-        Recognising the behaviours of different colleagues and co-workers and how to deal with them in an assertive manner whilst maintaining a professional working relationship.

 

-        How to best handle a difficult situation with a colleague that arises, using 6 key strategies that work with various situations.

 

-        How to deal with negative criticism when interacting face-to-face with colleagues.

 

Programme Content

Training Breakdown:

 

Module 1: Essential Communication Skills

 

  • Identifying the various speaking and communication styles
  • Understanding the Visual, Vocal and Language Aspects of communications
  • Importance of Visual Communications (Body Language – Hand Gestures, Posture, Eye Contact, Stance)
  • Importance of Vocal Communications (Sound of Voice – Pitch, Tone, Volume, Clarity, Articulation, Enunciation, Emphasis, Rate, Speed, Conciseness)

 

Module 2: Presenting with Confidence

  • Identifying the Key Structure of successful business presentations

·        Understanding Your Audience and how to address them

  • Dealing with Nerves and Fears when delivering information to others
  • Constructive Feedback on speaking style** (Delivery by participants)
  • Identifying own Individual Speaking Style and mannerisms

Module 3: Communicating in Difficult Situations

  • Recognising Unpredictable Behaviour with Colleagues            
  • Responding to Unpredictable Behaviour with Colleagues                             
  • Different Types of Dealing with Difficult/Unpredictable Communications Behaviour

·        How to Deal with Difficult Situations and Colleagues

·        Handling Criticism Assertively

·       Communication Essentials for Dealing with Different Colleagues’ Working Styles
