Orla Graham, Head of HR, Deloitte
Head of HR with Deloitte in Ireland. Her expertise combines 18 years working in HR with Marks & Spencer, Coca- Cola and Deloitte. Orla started working with Marks and Spencer in their graduate training programme in the early 90’s.  While working with Coca-Cola she was instrumental in setting up a shared services function for Europe.  Deloitte with 2000 employees is Ireland’s fastest growing professional services firm.

Barry Walsh, McDowell Purcell (Partner)
Barry is head of the firm’s Employment and Benefits team. He has considerable employment law experience.   He has advised a wide range of Irish and multinational corporate and institutional clients, partnerships and senior executives on all aspects of Irish employment law from recruitment to retirement including contentious, advisory and transactional work. Barry is experienced in acting for clients with respect to contractual and termination issues with senior executives. In addition to advising on employment law, he has also advised on industrial relations issues arising from mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing and redundancy situations.

11.30am             Emerging Trends in Talent Management

Dr. Mary Collins, Senior Executive Development Specialist, RCSI Institute of Leadership, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland 

Mary is a Coaching Psychologist working in the Organisation Development/Talent Management field for over 15 years.  Her current role as Senior Executive Development Specialist with RCSI Institute of Leadership involves working with senior leaders in the healthcare sector to develop their management and leadership capabilities through a range of executive development approaches e.g. executive coaching, 360 feedback, master classes etc.  Mary is also involved in academic work with the IOL including lecturing on a range of Masters programmes.  Mary has co-authored a book on ‘Managing Professionals & Other Smart People.

Mary’s session will focus on current trends to improve talent retention and practical strategies for HR managers and line manager’s to engage the talent in their organisations to optimise performance and potential.  The workshop will explore; how best to leverage the fact that we now have 4 generations working together in most organisations (‘intergenerational workplace’) the opportunity presented by technology and the importance of embracing technology in engaging our talent, accepting that the new generation of employee’s work ‘with and not for employer’s’ and are predicted to move organisations more frequently than previous generations.  How can we maximise their engagement and performance levels.
