Course Objectives
The learner will become aware of basic aviation topics such as theory of flight, basic aircraft systems, Aviation terms and
acronyms, basic aircraft maintenance concepts.
Key Course Content
2 day introduction to aircraft maintenance that includes a hangar visit and access to aircraft. An introduction to the history
of aviation including the basic advances in aviation. Introduction to the theory of flight. Discussion on various aviation terms andacronyms. Introduction to the basic systems and components of a modern airliner.
Target Group
Employees in an aviation related industry (technical, financial etc) who have a desire to have a general understanding of the
aircraft maintenance business. College graduates or those with a general interest in aviation.

TONY MAHER
Tony Maher is a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, with Avionics and Airframe Type
Ratings on B737, B757, B767 & B777 aircraft.With almost 25 years’ experience in the aircraftmaintenance industry including leading a team of maintenance professionals, he is well placed to understand the training needs of engineers,
airlines and MRO’s with emphasis on Avionics topics. As a Technical Training Professional, Tony specialises ideveloping and delivering Avionics elements of Aircraft Type TrainingCourses. Developing and delivering bespoke training courses is anotherof Tony’s strengths. Tony is a member of the AAG Dedicated Training Team, whose purpose is to provide high quality training to the Aircraft Maintenance Industry.
AIDAN DOOLEY
Aidan Dooley is a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, with Airframe and
Engine Type Ratings on B737, B757, B767 & B777 aircraft. With 20 years’ experience in the
aircraft maintenance industry including leading a team of maintenance professionals, he is well
placed to understand the training needs of engineers, airlines and MRO’s with emphasis on
airframe and engine topics. As a Technical Training Professional, Aidan specialises in developing and delivering Airframe and Engine elements of Aircraft Type Training Courses. Developing and delivering bespoke
training courses is another of Aidan’s strengths. Aidan is a member of the AAG Dedicated Training Team, whose purpose is to provide high quality training to the Aircraft Maintenance Industry.
