PRINCE2® (Projects IN a Controlled Environment) is a leading edge approach to managing projects. With the launch of PRINCE2® also came its recognition as the de facto standard for managing projects, not just in the IT/IS environment, but for projects of any size and complexity, run in any industry sector.
In support of this recognition, The APM Group offer a certification programme accredited by UKAS on behalf of OGC. This course conforms to the syllabus set down by the APM Group for delegates wishing to gain PRINCE2® Foundation certification. SureSkills is the only Irish company directly accredited for PRINCE2® with the APM Group.
The course is split into two modules; Foundation and Practitioner. The foundation is 3 days and the practitioner is 2 days with an exam at the end of each module. On successful completion of both courses the delegate will receive a certificate and be a registered PRINCE2 practitioner with the APM Group.
The Objective of the Foundation module is to ensure that a delegate has sufficient knowledge and understanding of the PRINCE2 method to be able to work effectively with, or as a member of a project management team. The Foundation qualification is also a pre-requisite for the Practitioner qualification. By successfully completing the Foundation exam, delegates will understand the structure and key terminology, specifically:
- The characteristics and context of a project and the benefits of adopting PRINCE2
- The purpose of the PRINCE2 roles, management products and themes
- The PRINCE2 principles
- The purpose, objectives and context of the PRINCE2 processes
The purpose of the Practitioner qualification is to ensure the delegate has achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor PRINCE2 in a scenario situation. A successful Practitioner candidate should, with suitable direction, be able to start applying the method to a real project.
By passing the Practitioner exam, candidates should be able to apply and understand how to tailor PRINCE2 effectively to a project within an organization environment supporting PRINCE2.

- Be able to apply the principles, themes and processes to a project
