Biopharmaceutical company Alkermes has officially opened its new global corporate headquarters in Dublin.  Ireland’s Minister for Health, Dr James Reilly, TD, joined Alkermes’ leadership team at a reception to commemorate the opening of the company’s new corporate headquarters on 29 March.

Alkermes plc was formed following the merger of Alkermes, Inc. and Elan Drug Technologies in September 2011. The company established its global headquarters in Ireland following the completion of the merger.

The company employs more than 400 people in Ireland at its manufacturing and drug development facility in Athlone, Co Westmeath and at its global headquarters operation in Dublin, with more than 1,200 employees worldwide.
