The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that comes into law this year on May 25th significantly increases the obligations and responsibilities for organisations and businesses in how they collect, use and protect personal data. At the centre of the new law is the requirement for organisations and businesses to be fully transparent about how they are using and safeguarding personal data, and to be able to demonstrate accountability for their data processing activities. It is imperative that key personnel in your organisation are aware that the law is changing to the GDPR, and start to factor this into their future planning.
In response to increasing queries from members ICBE through elearning partner, Central Solutions is offering an online course to help staff prepare for this important legislation.
GDPR Pass Programme has been designed specifically to respond to this requirement for organisations in a consistent and sustainable manner.
The GDPR Pass Programme is aimed at raising and demonstrating awareness of GDPR amongst all staff. It is typically aimed at organisations that need to train 100+ staff quickly and cost effectively on the background and responsibilities of GDPR, the requirements related to data privacy and governance, and the implications for day-to-day business activities. The courseware is delivered online and the content is non-sector-specific and suitable for all staff and skill levels.
The GDPR will require some organisations to designate a Data Protection Officer (DPO), but the important thing is to make sure that someone in your organisation, or an external data protection advisor, takes responsibility for your data protection compliance and has the knowledge, support and authority to do so effectively. This includes awareness-raising and training of staff involved in the collection and use of personal data.
Companies will need to appoint a Programme Lead onsite as a single point of contact for support and queries.
