SUMMARY:Aviation Policy and Regulations
DESCRIPTION:Aviation Policy and Regulations \n\nModule Fee €1236 \nAviation Skillnet Fee: €865 \nOverview: \nAviation Policy and Regulations \nAviation is a heavily regulated industry and both a global (ICAO) and regional (EU) level.  This module will provide an introduction for students to the regulatory environment within which aviation operates\, at the Irish\, European and international levels. \nThis module aims to empower aviation managers with an ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of aviation regulation and thereby enable better management of operational and commercial functions. The provisions of aviation regulations that are most relevant to the management function will be explored so as to facilitate practical application to real world cases. \nAs a module aimed at non-lawyers\, the teaching approach will utilise plain English explanations of regulatory laws and make use of cases and practical examples as the main source of illustration. \nThis module aims to develop the student understanding of leadership principles and enhance the students’ capacity to think strategically and better understand the organisational and leadership issues. \nOutcome: \nHaving completed this module students will be able to: \n\nDemonstrate a systematic understanding of the specific legal and regulatory framework that governs aviation.\nEvaluate the competitive and regulatory forces that shape the air transport industry.\nDemonstrate an understanding of the characteristics\, requirements and legal responsibilities of aviation organisations.\nCritique and apply appropriate principles of regulatory evaluation to factual aviation regulations and cases with operational and/or commercial impact.\nExhibit decision making skills in recognising scenarios where engagement with specific regulations is necessary.\n\nThe Aviation Policy and Regulations module can be taken as a stand-alone module or as the second of 4 modules to gain the Graduate Certificate in Aviation Sustainability\, Leadership & Innovation  \nThe Graduate Certificate in Aviation Sustainability\, Leadership & Innovation provides eligibility to move forward to Year 2 of MSc in Aviation Leadership \nAwarded: \n7.5 ECTS on completion of a module \n30 ECTS on completion of Certificate \nTimeTable \n\n\n\nThursday 12th January\n18:00-20:00\nOnline synchronous\n\n\nThursday 19th January\n18:00-20:00\nOnline synchronous\n\n\nThursday 26th January\n08:30-16:30\nOn campus\n\n\nFriday 27th January\n08:30-16:30\nOn campus\n\n\nThursday 2nd February\n18:00-20:00\nOnline synchronous\n\n\n\nFor more information on the programme or to register your interest please click here \nAll other queries please contact annette@icbe.ie
