Their contention is that whilst today’s employees demand greater participation and better leadership\, they also possess many untapped talents and skills that can benefit both workers and organisations. In short they believe that Lean\, when properly applied\, has the capacity to get the best rather than the most from employees. \nIn what is intended to be a very interactive seminar\, John and Noel will explore a number of themes presented in the book and there will be extensive audience interaction and what promises to be lively and thought provoking Q&A sessions moderated by Darrin Taylor\, Principal Lead at the Academy of Lean Enterprise Excellence in Waterford Institute of Technology. \nProf. John Bicheno \n \nJohn Bicheno is Emeritus Professor of Lean Enterprise at The University of Buckingham. Formerly a professional engineer\, he began learning about Lean in 1982 when as Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg\, he developed ties with Toyota South Africa. Noel’s first introduction to Lean was in 2003 as Production Manager with Lake Region Medical\, New Ross\, Ireland. \nNoel’s passion for Lean led to promotion to OpEx Director and he later led the site to achieve Shingo Bronze Accreditation. \nHe attained an MSc in Lean Operations from Cardiff University in 2007 and his Doctorate from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2017. \nThe focus of Noel’s doctoral thesis explored the relationship between Employee Engagement and Continuous Improvement. \n  \nDarrin Taylor \n \nDarrin is a Lecturer in Management at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) School of Business since 2004. He is Joint Programme Director of the WIT Lean Enterprise Excellence portfolio of executive/practitioner programmes; a Faculty Member of the WIT RIKON Centre; Principal Lead of the WIT Academy of Lean Enterprise Excellence; and Faculty Member of LI4 DAC. \nDarrin is a co-founder and Leadership Committee Member of Lean Business Ireland. We all need to reassess how we interact with each other\, including with our managers. \nThis workshop will support team members to address the key challenges they are likely to face in this new environment and learnt strategies and skills for transitioning to the ‘new normal.’ \nIn these workshops people will get the opportunity to: \n\nReflect on their journey since the beginning of the pandemic and make decisions about what to keep and let go of in how they are themselves and how they have interacted with their own team and other teams across the organisation\nExplore the ‘new normal’ and what to expect in moving from the pandemic ‘hangover’ and start to understand the challenge and opportunity faced in hybrid teams\nNormalise the stages of transition they and others in the team may experience in this changing work environment\nBuild skills to succeed in hybrid teams including communication\, collaboration\, learning & productivity\n\nTo maximise learning and transfer this programme will include: \n\nshort pre work so that learners come already engaged with the learning\na focused personal action plan\na toolkit of practical resources to support surviving & thriving in a hybrid team\n\nFacilitated by: Invisio \n  \n

SUMMARY:Leading Hybrid Teams : 2 X 3-hour workshops

It is pitched at middle and front line managers. \nThe Opportunity \nThe world of work has changed beyond what we ever imagined. It will change again and keep changing. Not just because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The pandemic brought about the perfect storm\, that was already brewing and accelerated the pace of change like we never could have expected. Nobody knows exactly what the future of work will look like\, but we all recognise that organisations and teams are unlikely to go back to the working patterns of the past. \nSo\, what does this mean for leading teams. Team leaders who have in the past managed on-site teams and may have managed remote teams more recently are already\, or will soon\, find themselves leading teams in a hybrid environment. Hybrids will take different forms in different organisation but likely most leaders will need to navigate some form of hybrid. \nWe were all catapulted into large scale remote working with no time to pre plan in March 2020. This time around we need to take time to plan\, challenge our mindsets\, upskill and reassess our approach to team leadership in a hybrid environment. Hybrid is a very different challenge and opportunity and is more difficult to ‘get right’ than all remote or all on site. Team dynamics will change as will team member expectations in terms of what they are looking for from their leaders and organisations. \nIn these workshops leaders of teams will get the opportunity to: \n\nReflect on their journey since March 2020 and make decisions about what to keep and let go of in how they are themselves\, have led during this time and their team’s journey\nExplore the ‘new normal’ and what to expect in moving from the pandemic ‘hangover’\nRecognise the need to reflect on mindset\, skills and attributes as a leader and how these may need to shift or be enhanced in the new environment\nUnderstand the challenge and opportunity faced by hybrid teams\nUse recognised leadership and change models to plan into the future what success would look like in a hybrid team\nExplore stages of transition in themselves as leaders and in their teams\, other teams in their organisation and in client teams and plan how to support people through transition as they adapt to hybrid team working\nBuild skills to succeed in leading hybrid teams including communication\, collaboration\, creativity\, learning\, engagement\, aligning & productivity\n\nTo maximise learning and transfer this programme will include: \n\nshort pre work so that learners come already engaged with the learning\na simple activity between modules to begin creating new habits\na focused personal action plan\na toolkit of practical resources to support leading hybrid teams\nnudge messages to learners in the 28 days after the workshops\nan optional action learning set one month after the workshops to share and explore with other learners\n\n

SUMMARY:ICBE Lunchtime Bite-Sized Webinar: Leading Hybrid Teams
DESCRIPTION:  \nLeading Hybrid Teams\nFREE 30 minute webinar followed by Q&A\nWeds\, March 23rd @ 1:15pm \nwith Tony Shone\, Team Coach & Director of Invisio \nSuitable for anyone who is already or will in the future lead a hybrid team\, whatever the size or complexity. \nThis bite-size webinar will disrupt and accelerate your thoughts on leading a hybrid team; the extent of the challenge; the considerations and what you can do at a practical level to get the conversation going. \nRegister using the BOOK A PLACE button\nwe will forward the webinar link before the 23rd\n  \nTeam leaders who have in the past managed on-site teams and may have managed remote teams more recently\, are already\, or will soon\, find themselves leading teams in a hybrid environment. Hybrids will take different forms in different organisation\, but likely most leaders will need to navigate some form of hybrid. \nThere will be a Q&A opportunity following Tony’s presentation to allow you to ask Tony any questions you might have. \n  \n\n\n\nTony Shone – Director\, Invisio\nAn experienced facilitator\, Tony has successfully worked with a diverse range of people and organisations to help them achieve their objectives. He has a wealth of practical ‘hands on’ management & leadership experience in both small and large organisations and has designed and delivered interventions for Danske Bank\, Ryanair\, the Defence Forces\, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Liberty Insurance to mention but a few.\nTony’s international management experience encompasses Ireland\, the UK\, United States and a number of Middle Eastern countries; in each case he was responsible for large teams of people in both multi-unit and multi-cultural environments. Prior to forming Invisio with Louise\, Tony held a Senior Group Management role with one of Ireland’s largest and most dynamic private companies. During this time\, he was extensively involved in the successful re-development of a number of businesses\, two of which achieved the prestigious quality ISO 9000 award.\nTony’s passion is unleashing the potential in teams in both new and existing businesses. Tony has an MBA from the internationally renowned Henley Business School.\n
