More than 60% of the world’s fleet of leased aircraft is owned\, leased\, or managed in Ireland. The major industry players have been attracted by Ireland’s stable political regime\, membership of the EU\, favourable time zone\, and talented workforce – not to mention our legal and regulatory advantages. In addition\, Ireland’s network of over 70 double tax treaties\, combined with the absence of withholding tax on aircraft lease rentals and a corporate tax rate of 12.5%\, makes Ireland a commercially attractive place to set up and run an aircraft leasing company. The aviation sector was hard hit during the Covid-19 pandemic but it is making a recovery. \nThis certificate provides comprehensive coverage of the key aspects of the aviation leasing and finance industry. It aims to deliver an in-depth analysis of the core legal and practical issues that parties typically encounter in aircraft leasing and finance transactions. It will address the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and how the industry has changed as a result. \nParticipants will gain an overview of the key legal\, financial\, and technical issues\, as well as an understanding of the broader regulation\, tax\, and insurance aspects relevant to aircraft leasing and finance. DESCRIPTION:Impactful Improvements – a lot done\, more to do\n Waters Technology\, Wexford\n  \n  \nIn this visit and site tour\, the Waters Technology team will focus on : \n  \nDaily Management: Undergoing much change in the latter part of this year\, they will share their current system\, where they have made improvements and where they believe there is further opportunity. \nKaizen Events: New improvement vehicle they have successfully used this year. They will present on the Kaizen process and show examples of where they applied it \nLeaders standard work: They have used this for a number of years\, but intend to make some changes in 2024 \nStandard Work Combination Sheets: Dipping their toe into this topic\, they will demonstrate early efforts of using this technique to uncover waste \n  \nAs a host site\, the team are very conscious that they don’t have all the answers and would appreciate commentary and feedback from visiting companies on using these methods as improvement vehicles or to drive standardisation. \nOnly two people from any ICBE member organisation may attend – only 20 places\,  we may be able to accommodate further attendees depending on demand. \nAgenda with times and logistics information will be sent to registered attendees in advance of the visit

This sector is experiencing strong growth at the present time. \nProgramme details\nThis module aims to give students an understanding of the purchasing and leasing of aircraft. The learner will be taken through the steps taken in purchasing aircraft and the contracts linked to purchase. The key components of a lease contract will be outlined and an explanation of the critical terms will be discussed. This module will be taught by Lectures\, guest lectures\, case studies\, problem solving exercises\, project work and self-directed learning.
