DESCRIPTION:Aircraft Lease Transition Financials (Certificate\, L7\, 10 ECTS)\n  \nStart Date : Wednesday 8th January\, 10 weeks\nFunded Cost:  €1\,125 (without funding €1\,500)\n\nOverview\nThe Certificate in Aircraft Lease Transition Financials aims to introduce the concept of an aircraft’s market value and factors which have an effect on it. Students will gain an awareness of the principles and practices of assets for sale/trade within the aviation leasing sector. \nCovering the reasons why leasing companies collect funds for future maintenance events and breaks down the variables impacting the overall costs associated with transitioning an aircraft from one operating lease to another. Introducing applied excel models for Technical Project management and culminating with the aircraft transition budget forecast. \nWhat are the entry requirements?\nAn aircraft maintenance qualification\, aviation qualification at Level 6 or above or extensive experience in the aircraft maintenance industry. Excel is used in this module. \nENGLISH LANGUAGE: Applicants who do not have English as their first language must ensure they satisfy English Language requirements. For entry to undergraduate courses\, a minimum score of 5.5 in an IELTS exam is required. For postgraduate courses\, a minimum of 6.0 is required. She has previously worked in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry and as a Contract Researcher for Industry. \nShe is a Master Blackbelt having graduated from the University of Limerick’s MSc Strategic Quality Management\, Lean System and holds a BSc in Biochemistry\, MSc in Biomedical Science and Specialist Diploma in Medical Device Science all from the University of Galway. \nShe is passionate that people are at the centre of all the Continuous Improvement work that we do and driven by the fact that there are opportunities to apply Lean and Continuous Improvement principles to all areas of an organisation. \n  \nPanellist : Elaine Koyce\, Product Manager\, Healthcare Insurance Industry \n \nElaine Koyce is a product manager in the Healthcare Insurance Industry in Ireland. She joined the company at its inception in Limerick in November 2021. She expertly guides the strategic roadmap\, technical design\, and delivery of products while managing dynamic scrum teams. \nElaine also heads the Women in Tech initiative\, fostering empowerment through a platform for connection\, experience sharing\, mentoring and networking. \nElaine’s dedication to Lean and continuous improvement is evident in her educational journey and professional accomplishments. She recently graduated from the University of Limerick with a MSc. in Strategic Quality Management\, Lean Systems\, adding to her credentials as a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma. She also holds an MSc. in Data Science\, a Postgraduate HDIP in Data Analytics and Software Development\, and a BSc. In Digital Technology and Design with a focus on agile project management. \nAs a returner who rejoined the workforce after a six-year hiatus to focus on her children while upskilling\, Elaine has a nuanced understanding of the value and challenges faced by women returning to the workforce. Her passion for empowering these women is reflected in her leadership of networking and mentoring initiatives. In 2023\, she was a finalist in the Women in STEM Awards for Outstanding Returner to the Workplace\, underscoring her commitment to supporting others on their professional journeys . \n  \nPanellist : Goda Zvikaite \, Lean Six Sigma and Quality Management Systems\, PennEngineering \n \nGoda is a results-oriented Lead Auditor and Quality Assurance professional and certified Master Black Belt with 15 years’ experience developing and integrating Continuous Improvement (CI) and Operational Excellence (OPEX) programs across diverse business units (applications\, supply chain\, logistics\, distribution\, and manufacturing). \nHer expertise is in Lean Six Sigma (MSc and 2022 Lean Business Ireland Award winner) and Strategic Quality Management. \nShe has proven ability to lead Quality Assurance teams\, ensure ISO compliance\, manage audits\, drive root cause analysis\, and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs). DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nResilient Minds at Work | Bite-sized 2-hour session\nDate: Thursday March 20th\,  10am to 12pm  \nFunded Cost: €55 pp \nTo book a place email maeve@icbe.ie \n  \nOverview and learning outcomes  \nAs a busy person you understand the demands of the real world.  The increasing demands placed on us personally and professionally affect our health and our business.  What makes some people focus and perform better under pressure while others struggle?   The answer is Resilience.   Resilience is a measure of your subconscious flexibility and what practical and psychological coping mechanisms you have access to.  This session comes with a big promise from Richard Burke – You will never forget this workshop.  That’s a big promise. \nAviation Skillnet is delighted to present to our network\, an award-winning mental health session aimed at teaching people how to work hard but go home happy. \nThe aim of the training is to enable you to understand stress and how you personally react to it.  The primary aim of the course is to put you in control of your stress response.  To be able to control your personal reaction you must first be mindful of it and then be able to “feel” that you can control it.  The session will address: \n\nGetting external demands and dysfunction into perspective\nHow your mind works\nThe big 5 personality types\nFear and Danger / fear and courage in a work and life context.\n\n  \nAbout the Trainer – Richard Burke\, Resilience Matters  \nMBA\, PIIE\, MIITD\, MICHP \nRichard Burke has a unique mix of qualifications. He is an engineer\, an MBA qualified manager\, an award-winning corporate trainer and a hypno-psychotherapist. His whole career has revolved around helping people manage change. \nHe qualified as an engineer in 1992\, winning the A.P. O’Reilly award for his paper on industrial psychology. After earning his MBA in 2002 he worked as a senior manager in manufacturing. He qualified as a trainer in 2007. \nRichard practices hypno-psychotherapy at a clinic called Safe Harbour\, which he founded in 2005. In his clinic\, he helps adults and children tackle a huge range of disorders. Having suffered from debilitating anxiety himself\, he specializes in stress and trauma. The personal experience of anxiety motivated him to requalify as a therapist. Many companies use his clinic for personal interventions with their staff. \nRichard set up Resilience Matters Ltd in 2011\, which focusses on reducing business and personal stress. He won the IITD national training awards in 2015 for the personal and business interventions he delivered on-site to the staff of the pharma company Sanofi. In the same year\, his company was a winner at the National Health and Safety Awards for Pioneering Resilience in Ireland. His interventions reduced absenteeism by 30% and visits to the doctor by 18% in a 12-month period. He was also a finalist at the IITD training awards in 2021 with Brown Thomas Arnotts for his intervention ” Coping with Covid” .    His courses are part of the Engineers Ireland and the Nurses’ Board CPD schedule. \nRichard has trained thousands of people in stress management. DESCRIPTION:Aviation Update Webinar 2025 with John McMahon & Brian Hayden | FREE EVENT\n  \n \n  \nMonday March 24th\, 2025 @ 1pm (via Zoom)\n  \nBook online here to secure your place \nA hugely popular event on our Aviation Calendar\, we are delighted to welcome back John McMahon and Brian Hayden to present their Aviation Update to our network members.  Since our first session in 2022\, over 600 attendees from our member organisations have joined us for this update. \nDuring this 45 minute session (plus Q & A) John and Brian will explore the latest aviation trends\, from regulatory updates to market shifts.   A key webinar for aviation professionals and enthusiasts\, this session offers expert insights and opportunities to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry \nFacilitators:\nJohn McMahon is a non-executive director\, aviation consultant and Adjunct Professor at University of Limerick. \nHe led the initial public offering and New York Stock Exchange listing of Genesis Lease Limited\, a global aircraft leasing company\, where he served as Chairman and CEO from 2006 until its merger with AerCap in 2010.  Previously\, he held senior management positions at Lloyds TSB Bank in the UK and debis AirFinance (now AerCap) in The Netherlands as well as executive roles at GE Capital Aviation Services\, GPA Group and Aer Lingus. \nHis current non-executive directorships include aircraft lessor\, Genesis Aircraft Services\, aviation analytics company\, Aerlytix\, as well as several aviation leasing ABS structures/portfolio companies with more than 250 leased aircraft and engines. He served as senior independent director of Wizz Air from 2012 to 2018 and as chairman of BNP Paribas Ireland from 2010 to 2019. \nHe holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Galway\, post-graduate diplomas in Accounting and Finance (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and Computer Modelling & Simulation (Trinity College Dublin) and a Professional Certificate in Data Science and Big Data Analytics (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).  He completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and is a Chartered Director of the Institute of Directors. \n  \n \nBrian Hayden\nBrian Hayden is a professional board member with some 50 years of experience in the aviation industry. He led the GECAS technical organization from 1993 until 2008 and was chairman of GECAS Limited as well as GE national executive for the Republic of Ireland for a number of years. Prior to this\, he was a senior executive with Guinness Peat Aviation and also spent many years with Aer Lingus. He currently holds board positions with Dublin Aerospace\, and several other aviation portfolio companies.  Mr Hayden holds an MBA from University College Dublin\, as well as a Diploma in Engineering and an MSc from Trinity College Dublin.
