Ref: CFS 1522
Information Requested: A member company would like know if other member companies send staff on Forklift Truck (FLT) Instructor Refresher Training.
The company is trying to source an FLT Instructor refresher course for an in-house instructor. The instructor has already completed the 10 day novice instructor course many years ago and is now required to do refresher training. The 3 training providers already contacted say that the instructor has to complete novice course again or courses are not running due to insufficient numbers. Any inputs on suggested trainers would be welcome.
Objective: The main objective is to get recommendations for training providers of Forklift Truck training.

We use a company called CMSE for our fork lift training. We don’t do Fork lift instructor training internally. That would only happen if it became a requirement to train up a person internally to become the instructor for all our fork lift drivers. Our advice would be to contact the company CMSE – does this answer your query?

At Merit Medical, we complete refresher forklift training every three years with a company called Reddilifthttp://www.reddilift.com/driver-training-page.html
Reddilift complete the training in house as we would have sufficient numbers for a one day course.
If you need any further information, please let me know.

Grainne, The RTITB are the governing body for the UK & Ireland and set the standard for Instructor training which is the standard set by the IIPMM and the HSA.
Lift Truck Instructor Re-registration – 3 Days
A 3 day course which upon successful completion, enables instructors to renew their registration onto the RTITB National Register of Instructor. “The Professional Register” for a period of 5 years and refresh and update their instructional skills.
It is expected that delegates attending a course of a minimum of three days duration will have high levels of instructional ability and who are regularly delivering operator courses to RTITB Accredited standards. Extremely limited time is available for practical re-training and practice.
It is strongly recommended that those instructors that do not have high levels of instructional ability and who are not regularly delivering operator courses to RTITB Accredited standards should attend a course of a minimum of 5 days duration.
