Martin Gillick is the National Training Lead in the Delivery of Mental Health First Aid Adult and Workplace Training programme with Saint John of God Hospital, a not-for profit, independent provider of mental health services. Martin has over 30 years’ experience in training development and delivery, and holds an MSc. in Mental Health, is an authorised critical incident stress management peer support instructor, WRAP facilitator, Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and hold numerous other qualifications including suicide and self-harm mitigation.  Martin is a former senior employee support officer in the Defence Forces.

To date approximately 10,500 people in Ireland have been trained in Mental Health First Aid from a wide range of sectors.  The programme has been shown to increase positive attitudes toward mental health, increase understanding and improve mental health of those who have completed the training.
