Ref: CFS 1472
An ICBE member company is interested to know what other companies do in relation to funding broadband for their employees.
– If you have employees in non-office roles (e.g. in field sales) do you pay anything towards their home broadband? If so what do you pay?
– If you allow ad hoc flexible working at home policy, do you pay anything towards employees’ broadband? If so, what do you pay?
– If you pay an allowance/expense towards broadband, do you process this payment as BIK?
Objective: To benchmark against other companies broadband expenses policies

We don’t pay it – even for home based employees.

Hi Grainne – For all offsite employees we pay their broadband in full.
For ad hoc employees who have home working flexibility we pay broadband in full.
We do not process this payment as BIK. I hope this helps.

We don’t cover this expense. My understanding for discussion with others, is that there is a move away from covering this as an expense, as broadband is pretty much standard in most homes now.

Grainne, We only have 3 people with broadband paid – they are in IT are required to link in from home. We do not have a formal home working policy for others so don’t pay.
