The Leadership for Aviation Managers module can be taken as a stand-alone module or as the second of 4 modules to gain the Graduate Certificate in Aviation Sustainability, Leadership & Innovation 

This programme is the only graduate programme of its kind in the world and is an innovative partnership between DCU and Aviation Skillnet.

The Graduate Certificate in Aviation Sustainability, Leadership & Innovation provides eligibility to move forward to Year 2 of MSc in Aviation Leadership

Course Overview

The aviation industry is a dynamic and intricate field that undergoes continuous transformation. Our Leadership for Aviation Managers Micro-Credential module is designed to cultivate these essential competencies, offering students a comprehensive understanding of leadership principles, improved communication skills, and valuable interactions with senior members of the aviation industry who possess expertise in change management and aviation education.

By enrolling in this module, you will develop a solid grasp of leadership principles while enhancing your strategic thinking capabilities and gaining deeper insights into organisational and leadership concerns.

 

What Can You Expect From This Module?

Having completed this module students will be well placed to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and characteristics of the aviation environment.
  • Evaluate leadership and management performance in real world aviation case scenarios.
  • Critically assess the role of leadership strategies in developing and enhancing a safety culture including, structure and reporting systems in aviation.
  • Recognise the role played by management in communications across the breath of the aviation sector, from stakeholder presentations, through internal staff briefings to crisis communications.
  • Take responsibility for research produced, including, efficient time management, working to set deadlines and targets, demonstrating self-discipline, creative thinking and critical reflections of their own performance.
