In Conversation with Micheál Geraghty, Vice President of Operations EMEA & Site Lead, Coca-Cola Ballina
As part of our In Conversation with Leaders series, Micheál Geraghty, Vice President of Operations EMEA & Site Lead, Coca-Cola Ballina was recently interviewed on behalf of ICBE, by business journalist, Frank Dillon.
Coca-Cola Ballina is the first Beverage company globally to attain accreditation from the World Economic Forum for its digital transformation journey and Micheál shares that journey as well as insights into his own journey to the Leadership position he is in today.
"The way I look at the World Economic Forum accreditation is it's really a validation of the journey we are on in Coca Cola globally and here in the site in Ballina......The digital transformation programme was initiated and showcased here in Ballina and then used as a Lighthouse for our digital transformation journey globally. Many of the original use cases for the transformation were trialled in Ballina and that journey is ongoing."
Micheál Geraghty
He discusses how Coca Cola Ballina manage current challenges - both domestic pressures such as the increasing cost base in Ireland and availability of talent as well as international challenges.
Speaking about how the company ensures they are always continuously improving:
"A phrase that is often used within our company is Be Constructively Discontent - we are always looking for an opportunity to improve and being part of a network like ICBE where you have the ability to network, see what other companies are doing, learning from each other, is hugely beneficial for us at our site in Ireland."
