What is Emotional Intelligence for Project Managers?

Tuesday, February 8th 2022
Starting at 1pm
30 minutes followed by short Q&A

with
Dr. David McKevitt, PhD, PMP
Lecturer, Procurement and Project Management, UCC
Academic Director, Certificate in Procurement Management

Emotional intelligence positively contributes to project success.
In January 2021, the Project Management Institute (PMI) incorporated Emotional Intelligence into its prestigious syllabus.
However, emotional intelligence is a multi-faceted concept, and project managers often do not know how to engage in or develop their capacity in emotional intelligence.

This 30-minute free workshop will answer the following questions

  • What is emotional intelligence (EI)?
  • Why is EI important in project management?
  • What are emotional triggers and why do they occur?

We will end the session with Q&A to give you an opportunity to ask David any questions.

Closer to the date, we will send you a link to Zoom that you can access via your smart phone or computer.
Full instructions will be provided then, but you will need a headset and reliable broadband internet connection.

Speaker: David McKevitt, PhD. PMP
David has 15 years’ industry experience and has worked nationally and internationally in various roles.
