Systems Designs

This two-day workshop integrates classroom and on-site experiences at a host facility to build upon the knowledge and experience gained in the DISCOVER workshop, and focuses on the Systems and Tools diamonds in the Shingo Model. It begins by explaining that all work in an organization is the outcome of a system. Systems must be designed to create a specific end objective; otherwise, they evolve on their own. Systems drive the behavior of people, and variation in behavior leads to variation in results. Organizational excellence requires well-designed systems to drive ideal behaviors that are required to produce sustainable results.

In this workshop, you will:

  1. DISCOVER three types of essential systems.
  2. EXPLORE five required tools for building an effective system.
  3. LEARN how to create and use system maps for each system type
  4. UNDERSTAND the responsibilities of a system
  5. Go and observe actual systems
  6. UNDERSTAND system standard work and how it drives improvement.
  7. UNDERSTAND how systems drive cultural transformation

Who should attend?

If you did attend the Shingo Discover Excellence workshop and want to learn more about Systems and Tools diamonds in the Shingo Model then this is the right workshop for you.

What people say about this workshop?

“Great course, brilliant Lecturer, really enjoyed it, would love to continue on where this Left off”

“The Training exceeded my expectations. Hakeem was excellent at providing training on Shingo System Design. Hakeem’s knowledge on the subject, his ability to make you think, and his interactions with the training groups was excellent. The Zoom call classroom training and being placed in individual Zoom group rooms worked really well”

“Excellent course with an excellent trainer. Extremely knowledgeable and able to explain the topics in straightforward terms with helpful examples. By allowing plenty of breakout sessions allowed us to discuss and put into practice what was being covered. Highly recommended”

“I really enjoyed the training and Hakeem makes it simple to follow and is coherent in his teaching. I do  feel like it should be a requirement to do the Discover Excellence workshop before completing this one. I felt like a lot of information being packed into 2 days, and perhaps doing the other workshop before this one would help with understanding this one a little better”

“Course was useful embedding the Shingo principles and activities throughout kept me engaged. Well-structured course and very knowledgeable trainer”.

“Hakeem was very knowledgeable on the subject and helped us understand the process and how to develop into our systems. Zoom was a good platform with the breakout room very useful.”
