Program Aim

The aim of this programme is to provide the trainee with the knowledge and skills to Lead and Execute
Business Improvement Projects. This is achieved through the understanding and utilisation of the
American Society of Quality (ASQ) Green Belt Body of Knowledge (BOK). These tools focus on
improving key Business metrics including improving Customer Service, Compliance, Cost, Delivery,
and Supply.

Program Objectives

At the end of this course, you will be able to:
▪ Understand the DMAIC improvement methodology and Six Sigma tools
▪ Apply the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology to business improvement projects
▪ Collect and analyse data using the appropriate Six Sigma tools.
▪ Apply Lean Methodology to a wastereduction project
▪ Understand team dynamics when delivering a project
▪ Complete the Green Belt ASQ Examination

 

Expectations of A Green Belt

A Green belt is an invaluable resource
to any organisation. Key roles that a
Green Belt fulfils include:

▪ Leading a medium to large sized business improvement project team using the internationallyrecognised DMAIC methodology
▪ Lead Lean improvement projects
▪ Make fact based decisions through the application of appropriatestatistical tools
▪ Mentor Yellow Belt projects

▪ 9 Days Training (Online Training Available)
▪ Mentoring Days optional

Target Audience

This course is aimed at personnel who are tasked with the execution of projects to improve business performance and/or data analysis in their day to day job. Roles that would benefit from this program include Engineers, Quality Engineers, Supply Chain and Managers. As this is a statistical course, a knowledge of mathematics is
recommended.

Assessment and Certification

For ASQ Green Belt certification, each candidate is required to:
1. Attend all training days
2. Pass a 4-hour open book, 100 multiple  choice examination that measures comprehension of the Body of Knowledge (Either at an examination centre or online)
3. Provide evidence of a minimum of three years ofwork experience in one or more areas of the Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge. Workexperience must be in a full-time, paid role. Paid intern, co-op, or any other course work
cannot be applied toward the work experience requirement.
Educational waivers are not granted.

Software

Participants will use the statistical software package Minitab® during training to ensure that they can
apply learning to the workplace when complete. Participants can avail of a 30 day free trial of Minitab®
software (www.minitab.com). Access to Minitab® is the responsibility of the participant.

 

Internationally recognised America Society of Quality (ASQ) are the certifying body for this programme.

Crystal Lean Solutions also offers certification with the completion of examination, attend all training
days and demonstration of the successful execution of an Improvement Project.
